Working with Children Check

In most cases, you will be working with and around children while on placement. It is therefore a legal requirement that you hold a valid Working with Children Card.

Students are legally required to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check and ensure that it is valid for the entire duration of their studies in a clinical or community environment. Interstate placement providers may also require students to receive an equivalent clearance from that state or territory.

The Working with Children Check Procedure below outlines the process for correctly obtaining and submitting your Victorian Working with Children Check. All students are required to read and follow the instructions in this document:

When you have obtained your Working with Children Check, you must submit a copy of the WWCC card or assessment notice via the online form:

If you have applied for your Working with Children Check but not yet received an outcome, you can submit your Australia Post-verified application form here. This will enable you to undertake placement for up to three months from the application date while you wait for your application outcome.
